The results of our 11th biannual survey, conducted in April 2025, reveal a strong upward trend in trust, relevance and satisfaction among both tax practitioners and consumers.
Red tape reduction recognised
Tax Practitioners responded positively to our efforts to streamline processes and reduce red tape. Compared to our previous survey in October 2024, positive feedback increased by 7% reflecting growing approval for our regulatory approach.
Guidance products hit the mark
Over 90% of tax practitioners reported satisfaction with our guidance products, finding them highly relevant to their work. Additionally, 80% of respondents said our policy and guidance materials were either mostly or completely relevant for their professional needs.
Improved website experience
Ease of access to information also saw a boost, with 71% of tax practitioners stating that our website made it easy to find the information they needed.
Consumer trust on the rise
From a consumer perspective, trust in tax practitioners continues to grow, with:
- 91% of consumers now expressing trust in their tax practitioner’s integrity and professionalism.
- 69% rating their overall experience with their current tax practitioner as ‘excellent’, emphasising high satisfaction levels.
- 36% of consumers reported engaging their tax practitioners multiple times a year, a slight but meaningful increase compared to our last survey.
Positive perception of the TPB
Encouragingly, 22% of consumers said they had seen something that made them feel more positive about the TPB. This highlights the impact of our ongoing outreach and visibility efforts.
Consumer awareness of the TPB’s public register also rose with 65% of respondents indicating they were aware of the register on tpb.gov.au. Up 6% from the previous survey, indicating growing visibility of the TPB’s regulatory role.

As we prepare to expand the scope of our future surveys, these results affirm the value of continued engagement and feedback from the tax community. The upward trends in trust, relevance, and satisfaction are a testament to the collaborative efforts with our stakeholders – we thank everyone who participated in our surveys and encourage your continued involvement.
