Consumer price index fee adjustment
The application fee to register or renew as a tax agent, BAS agent or tax (financial) adviser is subject to a consumer price index (CPI) adjustment on 1 July each year. The CPI adjustment was introduced by the Government in the 2018–19 Federal Budget, and is included in Part 2 - Registration of the Tax Agent Services Regulations 2009 (TASR).

The fee is not subject to GST.
If you have an upcoming renewal or are applying to register, and you pay and submit the application by 10pm (AEST) 30 June 2021 the payment will be based on the existing fee. Applications paid and submitted after this time will be based on the increased fee.
You can apply to renew your tax agent, BAS agent or tax (financial) adviser registration at least 30 days, but not more than 90 days, before it expires if you wish to continue providing these services.
