Tax Practitioners Board Releases New Strategic Plan
The Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) has released its Strategic Plan 2013-15. This is the second strategic plan for the TPB and represents our commitment to ensuring that tax agent services are provided to the public in accordance with appropriate standards of professional and ethical conduct. It also recognises the importance of regulating tax practitioners in a fair, consistent and practical way to protect consumers.
Ian Taylor, Chair of the TPB, said that “To achieve our objective, goals and strategies, we will engage and work collaboratively with tax practitioners and other key stakeholders to build on the already high standards of these professionals.” He further noted that “Our main focus is to protect consumers of tax practitioner services and provide greater certainty to practitioners about what is expected of them.”
Mr Taylor also said that “The strategic plan sets out our direction for the next few years and guides our people and the work we do. We will regularly review and report on our progress towards achieving the Board’s objective, goals and strategies”.
