How to register as a tax agent

STEP 1 - Check if you meet tax agent registration requirements.
All entities seeking to be registered as a tax agent must meet:

STANDARD APPLICATION – ALWAYS AVAILABLE

You will be registered for at least three years from the day the Board decides on your application.
The application fees for a tax agent standard application are:

$500 - for registration as a tax agent who carries on a business.
$250 - for registration as a tax agent who does not carry on a business.

I am already registered as a tax agent. Do I need to re-register?

If you were already registered as a tax agent, your registration should automatically transfer over to the Tax Practitioners Board. You can check our online register to ensure your details have transferred over and that they are correct.

You will receive a letter from the TPB reminding you of when you need to re-register.
